Rapper and social media phenomenon Lil Tay died Wednesday at the age of 14 after sharing a confirmed message on his Instagram account.
The young rapper, whose real name is Claire Hope, gained national attention for her controversial videos showing her lavish lifestyle that went viral on social media at the age of nine.

Letter also reports that Lil Tay’s younger brother, Jason Tian, has also died and their deaths are under investigation. I’m not sure where or when they died but Lil Tay is Canadian and moved to Los Angeles in 2018.

Lil Tay, who was nine years old at the time, talked about her social media stardom and called herself the “youngest bender” of the internet.
Her mother, Angela Tian, and her brother defended Lil Tay’s video in an interview with Nightline. “A lot of people would say we’d move on,” 16-year-old Jason told Nightline in a 2018 interview.
Her Mother Said, “My daughter has accomplished a lot by herself”, adding that her daughter will become a “superstar”.
Lil Tay said at the time, “No one forced me and said she has her own Instagram account.
